Team Members

Priya Shankar, Co-Founder, is a physician with the University of California, San Francisco Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved (PLUS) residency program. She completed her training at the Boston University School of Medicine and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a 2009-2010 Fulbright-Nehru Scholar to India where she studied maternal and child health policy. Priya has worked in the field of maternal, adolescent, and child health in India for the past fourteen years as a researcher and teacher and has published several articles on gender-based violence, reproductive rights, nutrition, and mental health.

 

Ricky Sharma, Co-Founder, is a Social Enterprise Fellow and Master in Public Policy candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a former financial professional with extensive experience in private equity and investment banking. He has an interest in promoting women and girls’ health in India and believes that gender equity requires male engagement and leadership. Ricky has worked in the past with several non-profit organizations in India and the United States. He is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ana Langer, MD, is the leader of the Women and Health Initiative and Maternal Health Task Force at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a leading reproductive health specialist.

Purnima Madhivanan, MBBS, MPH, PhD, is the founder of the Public Health Research Institute of India based in Mysore, India and a professor of Epidemiology at Florida International University. 

Alan Meyers, MD MPH, is the Co-Director of Children's Health Watch and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Boston University School of Medicine. He is an expert on nutritional anemia.

Christen Brandt, is the Co-Founder of She's The First, a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to girls in low-income countries. 

Vish Viswanath, PhD, is a professor of Health Communications at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Director of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health India Health Partnership.

Nancy Hayes, MBA, is an experienced business executive and Managing Director of Golden Seeds, an early stage investment group investing in women-led businesses.
